Ave Maria Community Group
Meet the Ave Maria group, an entrepreneurial community of women, ready to become financially resilient in Avénou, Lome near the southwest Togolese border to Ghana.
The 15 strong group joined forces and became Ave Maria in 2017 through one of IADES’ field officers. As a varied pool of entrepreneurs, their businesses range from selling fripperies (a mix of general haberdashery, lengths of fabric and recycled pieces of clothing), fish, onions, ginger, assorted condiments, and women’s clothing, the group is in a good position to help and support each other.
These Deki entrepreneurs are motivated to strengthen their businesses and improve living conditions by increasing revenue and purchasing ability. Through the business and financial training they have access to as a savings group, the are in good stead of achieving their goals.
The combined loan that the community group is aiming to raise is from generous sponsors, like you. is £2,835. Together with the training accessing ethical finance will help the Ave Maria Group and their whole community see positive change on the horizon.
