Amenuveve Community Group
The Amenuveve Group was formed in 2017, established at the Adidogomé market. An entrepreneur running a small stall there told others about the opportunity she had through IADES to get a loan and training for her business.
Word of mouth spread and soon the Amenuveve group was formed. The group now has 11 members and five of them are getting their very first loan. The group has a diverse pool of entrepreneurs, their businesses range from selling vegetables and charcoal, cooking essentials, such as oil, condiments and spices, grains, fresh and fried yams or preparing and selling Akpan. Akpan (pictured below) is made by slightly fermenting flour or maize and is served with condensed milk, sugar and ice. Akpan comes from the failed preparation of akassa, which has a slightly fermented taste and is eaten with fish or meat sauce.
The Amenuveve is an ambitious group – they are looking forward to improving their businesses and become financially resilient thanks to generous sponsors, such as yourself. The loans and varied business and financial training will empower this community group to improve their living conditions, increase their revenue to create a bright future for their children.
