About Deki

Established in 2009, with the vision for a world of opportunity not poverty, Deki’s mission is to develop resilient communities free from absolute poverty.

We provide underserved and hard to reach communities in Togo, West Africa with the opportunity to access basic financial services.  We provide ethical loans so that they can move from financial exclusion to inclusion. Through the provision of loan capital, business training and the community support required to start and develop an income-generating activity, the mostly female entrepreneurs we support can overcome poverty and start to build a sustainable future for themselves and their families.

We are looking to appoint a new Chairperson and other Trustees to join our current board.

We are looking for a Chairperson with strong leadership skills to work closely with the CEO to shape and deliver the strategic plan and ensure good governance of the charity.

– Participate in a sub-committee to support team members in setting and attaining aims & objectives.

– Ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

– To safeguard the values of the organisation.

A trustee should operate with integrity, using their strategic skills to help the board effectively lead Deki. They must be prepared to devote at least 6 days per year to the role:
